numerology nonsense

This morning I was reading an article on the San Francisco times website and in the margins I saw a trending article called The Story Behind Your Birthdate. Thinking it might be a fun article listing various historical things that happened on a certain day, like the infamous Ides of March being a pretty poor day for Julius Caesar. I decided to check it out. Spoiler alert: it was not about history at all.

Now if you’re into tarot cards, palm readings and horoscopes that’s fine. I do not take them seriously. Sure, if I’m super bored and there is a paper lying around (like there was in college) I’ll flip it open and read what is in for Geminis on any given day. Usually nothing that I’m hoping for, “You may wish to avoid getting involved in any arguments or conflicts”. What the what is that? That’s how I live my life always, avoiding conflicts and arguments as much as possible, does it really need to be in print? That’s just a thing I do.

Any who imagine my surprise when the article ended up being a fluff piece on numerology. Not even getting into the back story of it, just saying it has a long history. Well for fun, since it is Saturday and all) I went ahead and figured out that I was a five making me a nonconformist.

5’s are the explorers. Their natural curiosity, risk taking, and enthusiasm often land them in hot water. They need diversity, and don’t like to be stuck in a rut. The whole world is their school and they see a learning possibility in every situation. The questions never stop. They are well advised to look before they take action and make sure they have all the facts before jumping to conclusions.

As with most things it was a string of generic whatevers that although thematically similar, are different so that you’re bound to find something that is correct. Mine? The bit about the whole world being my school and everything being a learning possibility. Or at least that is what I aspire towards. I don’t mind failing and making mistakes so long as I 1) learn from it and 2) don’t fail in the same way again.

Until next time
